ICD 10 is upon us. Are you ready? Should you consider outsourcing coding services or engage someone to review your coding? Do you need specific training? Are you doing periodic audits of charts from a compliance standpoint?
The most recent SGR repeal did not contain the extension to delay in the implementation of ICD 10 that many had hoped for. Barring any further political intervention, all HIPAA covered entities must begin to use ICD 10 codes on October 1st, 2015. Are you ready for the change? If not, you run the risk of not being reimbursed for services from this point forward. Payments will not be made on claims where only ICD 9 codes are used. Proper training and readiness will be key factors in order to avoid revenue cycle disruptions. With our certified ICD 10 coders, we can provide you with the resources you need to do this.
Don’t be caught off guard with denials. ICD 9 CM will be replaced by ICD 10 CM October 1, 2015.
